Jesus' parables challenge our preconceptions about the dominion of God. By experiencing the paradoxes Jesus relates, we discover how incredible God's grace is and are encouraged to practice such grace in our own lives. We will use a case study approach focusing on five key parables.

Background Information on Parables

1 - "This Is For The Birds!" - Parable of the Mustard Seed

2 - "Who Was That Masked Man?" - Parable of the Good Samaritan

3 - "If You Can't Beat Them, Join Them" - Parable of the Unjust Judge

4 - "Penny Wise, Pound Foolish" - Parable of the Rich Fool

5 - "Just Don't Call Me Late For Supper" - Parable of the Great Supper

The worksheets are intended for use by individuals or small groups for personal study and for deeper investigation and reflection into the Word of God. The For Openers section provides some conversation-starting, introductory questions that will lead into the topic. The For Your Information section provides important background and resource material. The For Your Consideration section asks questions that hopefully will provide fruitful discussion. The For Later section gives some suggestions on how you might apply the insights from the study to your daily life.
